Amakhosi Lodge is ideally situated in 12,000ha of 'Big Five' private game reserve, in the heart of northern Zululand. Discreetly nestled on the riverbanks of the Mkuze River is the main lodge with veranda and wooden decks. Amakhosi means 'The Place of Kings' and the service, luxury and dramatic surroundings bear testimony to its name. Guests can enjoy bush safaris in open top vehicles or on foot with qualified guides. Experience close up encounters with an abundance of wildlife, seasonal frogging safaris and over 420 species of birds. There are also night game drives, birding safaris, nature walks, bush hides and fishing excursions accompanied by qualified rangers. Or if you prefer to simply relax at the camp where you will find a library, swimming pool, viewing deck and an outdoor lounge overlooking the river.
There are six luxurious River Suites each with expansive ceiling-high windows, bringing nature and the environment into close proximity. Each suite boasts separate air-conditioned bedrooms, a lounge with mini bar, sleeper couch, tea/coffee making facilities, and en-suite bathroom with a unique bath made for two and a private viewing deck, and complimentary candles, bath salts and bathrobes.

It is not advisable for children below the age of 8 years to join scheduled early morning & afternoon game drives, alternative arrangements can be made upon arrival with your ranger. Baby sitting facilities are available @ £3.00 per hour.
