Sell More, Earn More – It’s Back To Basics

After 20 years in sales and management, I have found that the most successful people stick to the basics. They have an abundance of knowledge of their product, a positive and winning attitude, excellent selling skills and the habits that ensure a full diary with qualified prospects.

Some time ago, I attended a Tom Hopkins ‘Boot Camp’ in the USA. This is one of the world’s greatest sales courses and runs for 3 days. There were 800 people attending (I was the only South African/Brit) and the amazing thing was that these were not beginners attending, but some of the world’s top sales people from every walk of life. Some had returned for the 13th time and the sole purpose was to get back to basics.

Decorate with Nature

Less is more, keep it simple. Let nature be your muse when decorating your home. Home décor inspired by nature is practical, easy, and elegant. It adds freshness to your living environment in a design that is not only decorative but spiritual. Think of the feeling you get when you watch the first spring trees blossom, smell the fresh cut grass in the summer or the moist air after a rainfall. Do you enjoy walking through crunchy leaves in the fall with crisp air flowing all around you? Perhaps you’re best contented with sitting by the fire sipping hot chocolate watching a peaceful snow falling silently through the window. Decorating with nature, is taking these feelings, memories, and moments we share with the seasonal changes and putting them into our home.

Guadeloupe is an overseas department of France and one of the twenty-six regions of France, an integral part of the Republic. Being part of France, Guadeloupe is also part of the European Union and its currency is the Euro.

Decorating From The Heart

Although my career title is Instructional Designer, designing documents and training, on screen and off, is not my only passion. I truly love to design rooms, homes, patios, etc… I’m not a “follower” so to speak of Feng Shui but I do believe they are on the right track when they speak of keeping each room in your home free of clutter. Especially those rooms where you wish to be very productive, such as a home office.

Masquerade Balls Are Truly Unique Events!

Masquerade balls or masques, have their origins from a folk tradition in Europe where giftbearing players wearing masks would call on a nobleman to mark an event. These players would be dancing and singing in the nobleman’s halls and encourage spectators to join in.

In the end, they would remove their masks to reveal their identities. Masques developed in Italy during medieval times, flourished in the 16th and 17th centuries as a courtly entertainment in celebration of a dynastic event. It involved music and dancing, singing and acting, performed on an elaborate stage with equally elaborate costumes and masks. Some royalties who had the acting bug like Henry VIII, Charles I, and Louis XIV performed as masquers in the masques at their courts, hidden behind masks. The spoken and singing parts, though, were done by professionals. Sadly, the masque is the artistic form from the Renaissance that is most alien to modern audiences today.

Plain Sashes Carrying Ahead Traditions and Feeling of Accomplishment

In the UK and the USA, the sash is rather meant for ceremonial purposes. Sashes can be seen at use in the higher education graduation day ceremonies, in beauty contests and processions and also corporate bodies to acknowledge lofty achievements. The plain sashes perhaps have the most aristocratic appearance and value. In Canada, sashes woven by hands were consequential to traditional belts, which were in vogue around the eighteenth century. Since it had multiple usages, this sash was used in the fur trade and hence was introduced in the north western America. The sash now got tightly woven while its average size increased. Some of the sashes could be more than four meters long. Multiple Coloured threads used to be used in making such sashes. Again, in Ireland and especially in the Northern Ireland, a sash is an emblem of Orange Order. The sashes of Orange Order were initially of the traditional “from the shoulder to the hip” type as used to be worn by British Army.

The Inventor of the Stroller

Probably you are one of the many people that don’t know who the inventor of the stroller is. If you have been wondering, his name was William Kent. He was born the 1st of January, 1685 and died on the 12th of April 1748. He is mostly known as an architect, furniture designer and landscape artist.

William Kent has made a name in each of these domains. In architecture he revived the Palladian style in England. In landscape he had a naturalistic approach of gardens and he is now known as the father of modern gardening. In the world of furniture designing he was much appreciated and you can see his work at the Hampton Court Palace and the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich.
